Sky Clear Trio is made up of three multi-instrumentalists and songwriters/composers who perform music from a variety of genres, from classical and jazz to pop and R&B, as well as their own compositions. Wing primarily plays piano, Gwyn is the vocalist, and Stone usually plays bass, but they are known to swap instruments and play guitar, drums, ukulele, and flute.
Wing is a pianist and composer who writes and plays music ranging from pop songs in rock bands to classical pieces in chamber music ensembles. She has also sung in choirs, played flute/piccolo in marching band and orchestra, and provided piano accompaniment at music festivals and more. Wing has performed with different ensembles at a variety of events around the GTA, and a highlight was playing one of her compositions at Koerner Hall.
Born and raised in a household filled with a diverse range of music, Gwyn, the vocalist of Sky Clear Trio, developed a deep appreciation for genres from classical and pop to R&B. To her, music is a universal language that transcends cultural, linguistic, and geographic boundaries, inspiring people around the world. She has had the privilege of performing at various gigs, sharing her love for music with diverse audiences and continuing to grow as an artist.
Initially classically trained in piano, Stone has been performing across Southern Ontario as a bassist in various groups and settings for the past 2 years. His influences come from many genres such as classical, jazz, funk, J-pop, rock, and video game music (which actually is multi-genre itself as well). Some notable performances include his participation in the Side-by-Side program organized by Confluence Concerts in February 2024.
