Wing is a pianist and composer who leverages her engineering background to find creative ways to share music with people through performance, collaboration, and education. Music has positively impacted her in many aspects of life, so she is passionate in helping others experience music and the pleasure it brings. From classical to pop and beyond, she performs and records music, solo and collaboratively in various ensembles. Wing has performed one of her compositions at Koerner Hall in Toronto, sang in a world premiere with Skule Choir at Carnegie Hall in New York, and accompanies students at competitions and exams.
Wing completed the Associate Diploma (ARCT) in Piano Performance from the Royal Conservatory of Music; Yamaha Grade 4 Piano; Yamaha Grade 4 Fundamentals; and Engineering Music Performance Minor alongside the Bachelor of Applied Science (BASc) in Industrial Engineering from the University of Toronto. She has played piano for over 20 years, accompanied choirs for over 12 years (also sang as an alto), played flute and piccolo in orchestra, wind ensembles, and marching bands, and played keyboard while singing in rock bands. Wing has led the flute section in a marching band, and conducted a choir as well. Whenever there is a chance, she likes trying new instruments (e.g. trombone, ukulele, venova, cello) or new ways to make music (e.g. with AI, VR).
For her contributions to the arts, Wing received the 2023 L.E. (Ted) Jones Award of Distinction.
